For Under the Salt Marsh, Dragon Fire & Safety Services provided a complete safety and technical effects package spanning fire, water, and stunt support.

The schedule called for continuous rain and water work, complex street and backlot fills, and night shoots that demanded fast resets, quiet rigs, and strict welfare management.

Our water safety advisors scoped hazards early, securing permissions, comms plans, and rescue provisions. SFX support systems used a decoupled design of bowsers, storage tanks, and silent pumps, enabling consistent rain effects while reducing tanker hours by around 25%. Heated water was integrated to protect cast welfare and maintain performance quality through extended night exteriors.

In parallel, our fire advisors and in-shot crews handled flame sequences, set protection, and performance-based fire strategies for temporary structures—balancing creative ambition with compliance under the Fire Safety Order. Every scene involving open flame, pyro, or water interaction was mapped through joint planning with SFX and Stunts, aligning technical rehearsals and emergency responses.

Throughout the shoot, our embedded health and safety team oversaw risk governance, briefed departments, and delivered targeted toolbox training, ensuring crews understood the practical controls in play. The result was a complex, high-intensity production delivered on schedule, incident-free, and visually seamless, with authentic on-camera realism supported by professional safety discipline—proving once again that well-engineered safety makes great filmmaking possible.
